Cinderella London Coliseum, London Wed, 11th August 2010 - Sun, 15th August 2010 From £10.00*English National Ballet's Cinderella tells everyone's favourite rags-to-riches story. Cinderella is tormented by her spiteful stepsisters and would do anything to attend the Prince's glamorous ball. Rejected, upset and alone, Cinderella's Fairy Godmother intervenes and transforms her into a glittering Princess who shall go to the ball. Prokofiev's uplifting score played by English National Ballet's symphony orchestra together with David Walker's sumptuous costumes and sets conjure up the fairy tale world of Cinderella perfectly. "This award-winning three-act ballet was the first full-length creation from Michael Corder. Interestingly, in this production of Cinderella, the step-sisters are not played by men but women on pointe to take advantage of the great music for their solos. The fact they are no longer purely comedic roles also highlights the plight of Cinderella much more" Please note Children under the age of 5 will be admitted to a special, child friendly matinee performance on Thursday 12 August. Children under the age of 5 will not be admitted to any other perforances.
