From £9.00*Celebrating musical and literary dreams, this evening’s concert showcases a magical narration of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream accompanied by Mendelssohn’s incidental music. BBC New Generation Artist Elizabeth Watts joins us for a performance of Berlioz’s Les Nuits d’été, one of the most romantic and luscious song cycles in the classical repertoire. A one-off evening full of entertainment and great music, this concert promises to be a celebratory finale to Douglas Boyd’s ten year tenure as Music Director. 6.30pm Pre-concert Performance: Urban Symphony, 5th movement This final movement and culmination of URBAN SYMPHONY celebrates one of the world’s greatest concert halls - The Bridgewater Hall - in a series of performances across the day.
